The Itsekiri staff Association of the College hosted the Provost Prof. Mrs. Mary Olire Edema to a ceremony on the 8th of July, 2017 to mark her one year in office as the first Itsekiri indigenous Provost since the inception of the College 37 years ago.
The colourful event which took place at the College hall witness the presence of the Provost spouse Prof. C. U. Edema. The highlight of the events was the presentation of awards to several personalities who have dedicated themselves to the service of the Itsekiri nation with the sponsorship of students to study Itsekiri language in the College. They include Chief Patricia Otuedon Arawone, Mr Emmanuel Adokpaye, Engr. Alex Neyin and a host of others.
Amongst Dignitaries at the event include the Representative of His Royal Majesty Ogiame Ikenwoli, the Olu of Warri, Chief Charles Ikomi, the Chairman of the occassion Prof. Nesin Omatseye, Engr. Oritsetimeyin Wood, the Executive Director Project (DESOPADEEC)
At the event, the Provost highlighted her journey so far and thank God Almighty, the Executive Governor, His Excellency Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Authur Okowa, the S.S.G. Hon. Ovie Festus Aghas and the Honourable Commissioner for Higher Education, Engr. Jude Senebe for ensuring that she was selected for the Job, the Chairman of the Institutions Governing Council Prof. Samuel Aghalino, members of the Governing Council, the entire Management Staff and Student of the College who made her stay in the College so far worth while.
Her thanks also goes to her Husband Prof. C. U. Edema, her family and her wonderful children who had supported her all the way.
