The Governing Council and Management had a send forth ceremony organised for retired Chief Lecturers and Deputy Registrars from 2016 to 2019.
The ceremony was in recognition of their meritorious service to the College.
Most of the retirees turned up, elegantly dressed, with their spouses. Others came alone. Some who could not attend for one reason or the other sent representatives.
The Chairman of Governing Council, Prof. Samuel Ovuete Agalino, and other Council members were present. The Provost, Prof. Mrs Mary Olire Edema, and other Principal officers, Deans, Directors, Departmental/Unit heads, Chief Lecturers, Deputy Registrar, Union leaders, friends of the College and students were present at the ceremony.
The Chairperson of the planing committee, Dr. Mrs J.I Kalusi, welcomed all to the gathering. She acknowledged that it was the first time College Management was putting up such a function to recognise and celebrate the selfless service of retirees to the College. She appreciated the Governing Council and College management for the event. She specially thanked the Provost for the giant stride, soliciting she keeps the flag flying in this regard.
The Provost congratulated the retirees, stating that the honour given to them was well deserved.
The event was colourful, interesting and entertaining. Resounding accolades as well as citations of the retirees present were read. Students of music department thrilled the audience with a beautiful welcome song. Theatre arts students did a dance performance. There was a DJ who kept the atmosphere alive with beautiful music, and there was much to eat and drink.
