VISIT OF THE COMMISSIONER FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT TO THE COLLEGE

Last week the College had series of interesting activities, one of which was the visit of the Honorable Commissioner for youth development, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwuyanga, to the College.
Based on the fact that the College has an Entrepreneurship and Innovative course in the form of Skill Acquisition programs, the Commissioner was prompted to visit.
One of the SMART Agenda programs of the state Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, is to encourage all unskilled and unemployed youths from Delta State to acquire skills that will make them employable and further create jobs for themselves as well as others.
The Commissioner came purposely to propagate this agenda and inspect the various skills acquisition units in the College.
On his arrival, he was received by the Provost, Prof. (Mrs.) Mary Olire Edema, and other members of management, who took him on a tour of the skills Unit. Thereafter, he was given a warm reception at the Prof A.C. Unomah Hall.
The Provost welcomed him formally and talked about the various skills acquisition units, her plans to expand and better the already existing ones, and the challenges faced, soliciting assistance where necessary.
It is hoped that the visit will yield positive results and that College of Education students will benefit from the youth development agenda of the state Governor.
